Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
(Psalm 20:7)
We live in a time when the world defines people by what they have rather than who they are. It may seem like a modern issue, but even in ancient times, it was much the same.
Owning possessions and gaining financial power has always been something many people chase after. Unfortunately, many who achieve financial stability end up placing their trust in their wealth—which only makes them vulnerable. Everything in life fades away, except for the Word of God.
There are things money cannot buy: our intimacy with God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and our salvation through Christ Jesus. These three are essential to the life of every human being—rich or poor. And we have access to all of them freely, by the grace of God!
When we place our faith in material things, we are placing it in a worldly system full of flaws. But when we place our faith in God, the impossible becomes possible. Material things no longer have power over us, and we live in greater freedom because we know exactly where our faith lies.
Trust in God, not in things
Only God brings true security in the midst of this world’s instability. Read the Bible and seek to know more about God's power.
Trusting in God is an act of faith—just like people put their faith in their jobs or social status. Put your faith in God, who never changes.
Yes, we will face trials in life, but with God, your faith is built on the solid rock—Jesus Christ. Pray, keep fighting in prayer, and the storm will pass. If you've lost something, God is more than able to provide for all who trust in Him.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for everything You have placed in my life. Thank You for sustaining me and taking care of me. Despite all that I have, my trust is in You. Amen.
