Being Prosperous and Grateful for What You Have

MIVF

“You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”
(Psalm 128:2)

In today’s society, we often find ourselves caught in a constant race for professional and financial advancement. Because of this, we sometimes forget all that God has already provided in our lives.

All work is honorable, no matter how simple it may seem. We live in an unequal world where many people face hardships. Of course, we want to provide the best we can for our families—but we must not forget that we are already prosperous with what we have. God will bless us at the right time. The first step toward growth in our lives is to recognize and give thanks for everything God has already done for us.

Whatever you do—whether in your leisure or in your work—do it all for the glory of God. If you're in a job situation that’s less than ideal, bring it to God in prayer and wait for Him to act. In the meantime, continue to give a good testimony. Trust that God will provide what you need, at just the right moment.

How to Find Joy in Your Work

  • Work with the awareness that God is always with you. Do your job as if you were serving Him directly.

  • Live out the gospel in practical ways at work— through your attitude more than your words. It’s no use talking about God if your actions don’t reflect Him.

  • Share your dreams and your desire to grow with God. He is the best counselor, and He wants to bless you.

A Prayer:

Lord, I want to thank You for the work You’ve placed in my hands. Thank You for providing everything I need to bring bread to my table. Please help those who are going through hard times, just as You’ve helped me. I want to grow, develop, and honor Your name. Thank You so much, Father.
